How do I NOT Have Sex?

So, you’ve decided to stop having sex outside of marriage but man, seriously, those urges didn’t just up and disappear because you said yes to God, right? If anything, in some instances, they’ve probably gotten worse, right? Yeah, I know. Well, there are some things you must understand first in order to be successful in your walk of purity.

First, you have to understand that this is a spiritual battle. It’s not just against your fleshly desires. Second, there’s no way on this earth that you can walk this walk alone. Third, realizing that something in you has been awakened prematurely and only God can put it back to sleep. And fourth, this will require some work on your part as well.

What in the world am I talking about? Well, I’ll tell you a few things, without typing a dissertation:

Contrary to what we’ve all been told, sex, including oral, was reserved for marriage.  A gift from God to married couples.  We see evidence of this act in the book of Genesis (Genesis 4:1). Sex was also created by God. Which means, He knows why He created it and what happens when it’s done outside of why it was created. God meant for sex to be good and pleasurable and this is what gets us into trouble.  We all agree that it’s good and pleasurable! Guess who also knows this about sex? Satan. Remember I said that this is a spiritual battle (Ephesians 6:10-18). Satan has succeeded in perverting this act and taking it out of the context of why it was created therefore instead of sex being a blessing for marriage and procreation, it has become a curse because it has been abused and the marriage bed defiled.

Now, on to why you still want sex. You still want it because you’ve been awakened in this area and because the power of sex is not easily shaken.  It’s binding, sex joins you to another person, you become one with this person. Sounds familiar? Yes because this is what happens in marriage (Genesis 2: 23-24). In the Bible we are warned in Song of Solomon (2:7) not to awaken love before its time and not just sex but allowing someone to become so intimate with you emotionally as well. For women, this is how we are taken down. Our emotions! Ok…….

  1. If you haven’t done so, soul ties that have been formed with anyone you’ve had sex with must be broken.

From Pastor Chris Simpson, New Wine Christian Fellowship http://www.newwineonline.com:

STEPS TO BREAKING UNGODLY SOUL TIES:

  • Confess any and all ungodly ties to the Lord. Repent from your heart for violating God’s ordained boundaries in your relationships.
  • Make a solemn commitment to the Lord to break off any relationship that is not pure or righteous in His eyes. Become accountable to others to help you keep that commitment. Until you do that, any prayers for freedom are in vain. I’ve actually had people ask me to break their unhealthy soul ties so that when they got together again (in their illicit relationship), they wouldn’t feel all those bad spirits. However, God is not mocked. Reinforce your requests to the Lord with a commitment to obey.
  • Before praying, do whatever is necessary for the anointing of the Holy Spirit to come. This is so important. Pray, wait, forgive, or worship. Once His presence and anointing is present, then proceed with the soul tie breaking prayer. It’s the anointing that breaks the yoke. The ties won’t break with a simple prayer from the mind. The anointed power of the Holy Spirit must be present to be effective.

SOUL TIE BREAKING PRAYER

“In the name of Jesus Christ I now renounce, break and loose myself from all demonic subjection and any ungodly soul ties and unhealthy bondings with the following people: (break soul ties with each person that comes to mind)”

“Lord, I ask you to do whatever it takes to break me of my tendencies to: obsessive preoccupations, domination, control, passivity, apathy, unforgiveness, anger, blame, accusations, fear, intimidation and disobedience in relationships.”

“Finally, in the name of Jesus, I declare every demonic hold in my life that has come as a result of unhealthy soul ties null and void. Satan, I renounce you and your demons and command you to depart from my spirit, soul and body!”

  1. Once the ties have been broken, check your circle. Who do you hang with? Are they trying to walk the same walk as you? If not, then you might need to break up with them too!
  2. What are you watching, reading, listening to? All of this plays a part in the success of walking in purity. Purity is more than not having sex, it’s making sure that our heart and mind lines up with the word of God. If you’re watching things like Being Mary Jane, Scandal and Love and Hip Hop, then you’ll likely be influenced by these shows.  Without going too far down the rabbit trail, Satan was once Lucifer, Archangel of worship, had a beautiful voice, etc, so because of his pride he was kicked out of heaven. Satan wants to be God, and he wants us to worship him, not God so certain types of music, turn our hearts to sinful desires and not to worship and glorify God. Music is powerful! Notice how you react when you listen to certain types, same goes for TV shows. The Bible tells us to take certain thoughts and ideas captive (2 Corinthians 5:10) The Bible also tells us that once we are set free through Christ, make sure that we stay free and not get tied up again (Galatians 5:1, 13)
  3. As I said before, you can’t walk this walk alone. Have people who will hold you accountable and that you trust to be transparent with. Transparency is key! Most importantly, have a RELATIONSHIP with God. Holy Spirit was sent to guide us and comfort us. Don’t ignore Him or forget about Him. Our flesh is constantly warring with our spirit and sometimes the battle is just too hard for us to fight. The Bible says “So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves” (Galatians 5:16). Remember that even if you find yourself in a compromising situation, God always provides a way out, you just have to take it! (1 Corinthians 10:12-13)

There’s temptation everywhere at any given time.  We all know this. We have to learn how to navigate through this mess. We can’t see everything that’s coming at us but God can.  You may still have sexual urges but they don’t have to rule you. The Bible tells us to flee from sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18). When you don’t have the energy or “want to” to flee, pray, I guarantee you, God will show up. Do you trust God to help you with this? You have to surrender your sex life to Him. Trust Him to bring along the one He chose for you. Also, if you do fall, repent, get up and keep fighting.  Don’t condemn yourself because God doesn’t condemn you. He wants you to have His best. Don’t settle just because you’re horny. Find some emergency verses, an item that will remind you that you can do this, remind you of why you’re doing this, whether it’s a purity ring or bracelet (such as our signature bracelet :-)). Have some emergency phone numbers too. Know what your triggers are. If Valentine’s day is a trigger, make plans with friends or family so that you can head off temptation to fall back into old habits.  God will honor and bless your efforts! Don’t forget to do your part! God will handle what you can’t! Feel free to share anything that’s helped you as well!

Be blessed and encouraged,

Shannon

What Does God’s Word Say About Sex?

purity-article-header-mirage-marriageHi! I’m so excited to begin this journey with you through God’s Word! Why am I so excited? I am excited because one of the greatest lies ever told will now be demolished! What’s this lie? The lie is that God has nothing to say about sex! Oh, He has lots to say! For all the questions and doubts you’ve had concerning sex, I challenge you to join in and find out the answers for yourself! This is about you and God, no one else! Take the time to really meditate on God’s Word and let Holy Spirit minister to your heart. Let truth replace all the lies that have been told to you and that you’ve told to yourself.

Over the next thirty-one days, pray for revelation, journal the entire scripture or parts that really hit home for you and meditate on the passages.  Let God’s truth set you free.  I’ll be following along as well and will, as Holy Spirit leads, post what revelation I get or have gotten from the scriptures as well as how they’ve helped me on my journey to purity and healing from my past hurts.  If you need accountability, follow Savin’ it for Hubby on Facebook and post any questions, concerns or any revelation that you’ve received.  You will not be on this journey alone. I look forward to hearing from you!

Below is the link to download the plan!

Wake Up!

Empire picSo, I hear the new season of Empire has started and everyone’s all excited and pumped…even “Christians”. Oh yes, I’m coming for you!

Please, please, please explain to me how this show is in anyway fitting for the eyes of a supposedly God-fearing, Jesus loving, saved person? Am I missing something here? Everything about this show is in total disobedience to the Word of God not to mention it contradicts the Word of God completely!

From what I’ve heard of the latest episode, a lot of “Christians” were disappointed because it was a little over the top. Seriously, what did you expect?! Isn’t that how the enemy uses sin? He dishes out a little to suck you in, to desensitize and then once that’s happened, in comes the flood! You should be happy that you noticed that it was over the top! Could it be your Spirit alerting you that hey, you shouldn’t be filling yourself with this junk! Satan is the god of the air, of this world.  He uses the airwaves, TV, music to do his work.  Think about it! I heard on the radio this morning one guy said that he felt as if he should have had the remote in one hand and a stack of $1 dollar bills in the other! Really???!!! Come on people of God! What are we doing? We are bowing down to everything, compromising at every turn! We have the Creator of the Universe on our side, we don’t have to accept this!! But because we want to gratify our flesh and don’t want to offend, we bend and succumb to the wiles of this world!

Not only is this show totally contrary to the Word of God, look at what it’s promoting. Fornication, lewdness, violence, disrespect for women, do I need to go on? No wonder our young men and women act the way they do, not treasuring their bodies and young men, instead of covering us they are looking to expose all that we have as women.  They may not listen to us but they are watching and if we’re ok with feeding this garbage to ourselves then of course they think it’s ok as well! Then we adults have the audacity to get mad when the young ones act in the manners that they’ve picked up from us! Come on people, that do as I say and not as I do approach does not work! The young girls and Lord help us, women, want to emulate Cookie and yes lets bring in Olivia Pope. Please tell me where and how do these women represent at Titus 2 woman?

God’s Word tells us “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”(Philippians 4:8) Is there anything in Empire that resembles anything close to this?  Then Titus 2:3-5 Similarly, teach the older women to live in a way that honors God. They must not slander others or be heavy drinkers.[a] Instead, they should teach others what is good. These older women must train the younger women to love their husbands and their children, to live wisely and be pure, to work in their homes, to do good, and to be submissive to their husbands. Then they will not bring shame on the word of God. Do either Cookie or Olivia Pope reflect any one of these characters?

And let’s not leave out the men: Titus 2:2,6 Teach the older men to exercise self-control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love and patience. In the same way, encourage the young men to live wisely. And 1 Timothy 5:2 Treat older women as you would your mother, and treat younger women with all purity as you would your own sisters.

The Word says that For the time has come for judgment, and it must begin with God’s household. And if judgment begins with us, what terrible fate awaits those who have never obeyed God’s Good News?” (1 Peter 4:17) Being a Christian is more than just believing and saying the prayer, that’s only the beginning.  We have to make the decision to make Jesus Lord over our lives, not just our Savior.  He has called us higher, otherwise who would be able to differentiate between someone in the world and someone who has given their lives to Christ? We are to be in this world, being salt and light, not conforming to it’s ways!

Be blessed & encouraged,

Soul Ties

What is a sosoul ties redul tie?

“A soul tie is the joining or knitting together of the bonds of a relationship. Godly soul ties occur
when like-minded believers are together in the Lord: friends, marriage partners, believers to
pastors, etc. Relationships that lack ‘God-centeredness’ can result in ungodly soul ties between
friends, parents and children, siblings, marriage partners, former romantic or sexual partners,
domineering authorities, etc. An unhealthy attachment with another can bring about a psychic
control that can adversely affect the life, e.g. a mother who refuses to relinquish her hold on her
children (tied to her apron strings), a person who refuses to release to the Lord the memory of an
old romantic flame (withdrawing into nostalgia in times of loneliness), a person who holds a grudge
or a judgment against another, someone who uses spiritual forces to control others (witchcraft),
etc.”

Prayer for breaking ungodly soul ties:

“In the name of Jesus Christ I now renounce, break and loose myself from all demonic subjection and any
ungodly soul ties and unhealthy bondings with the following people: (break soul ties with each person that
comes to mind)”

“Lord, I ask you to do whatever it takes to break me of my tendencies to: obsessive preoccupations,
domination, control, passivity, apathy, unforgiveness, anger, blame, accusations, fear, intimidation and
disobedience in relationships.”

“Finally, in the name of Jesus, I declare every demonic hold in my life that has come as a result of
unhealthy soul ties null and void. Satan, I renounce you and your demons and command you to depart
from my spirit, soul and body!”

Is This You?

Hi!

proberbs for living

So, I’m doing the Proverbs challenge this month and this has been blessing me! Only on Day 7 but I’ve been getting so much out of the book of Proverbs and am excited for all that I’m going to learn as the days progress.  What’s really stuck out to me is how much emphasis is put on wisdom and understanding.  In Proverbs, wisdom and understanding are considered more valuable that gold, silver, rubies or anything you think you may desire! Talk about a change in perspective! The world tells us to go after the riches and wealth, but the Word of God tells us in all of our getting, get wisdom and understanding.  Now, what has also jumped out at me is how much a son of God is warned about the immoral woman.  I’m only on Day 7 and in Proverbs 5, 6 and all of 7 is dedicated to warning about the immoral woman.

Please see scriptures below:

Proverbs 5 (NLT)

My son, pay attention to my wisdom;
listen carefully to my wise counsel.
Then you will show discernment,
and your lips will express what you’ve learned.
For the lips of an immoral woman are as sweet as honey,
and her mouth is smoother than oil.
But in the end she is as bitter as poison,
as dangerous as a double-edged sword.
Her feet go down to death;
her steps lead straight to the grave.[a]
For she cares nothing about the path to life.
She staggers down a crooked trail and doesn’t realize it.

So now, my sons, listen to me.
Never stray from what I am about to say:
Stay away from her!
Don’t go near the door of her house!
If you do, you will lose your honor
and will lose to merciless people all you have achieved.
10 Strangers will consume your wealth,
and someone else will enjoy the fruit of your labor.
11 In the end you will groan in anguish
    when disease consumes your body.
12 You will say, “How I hated discipline!
If only I had not ignored all the warnings!
13 Oh, why didn’t I listen to my teachers?
Why didn’t I pay attention to my instructors?
14 I have come to the brink of utter ruin,
and now I must face public disgrace.”

15 Drink water from your own well—
share your love only with your wife.[b]
16 Why spill the water of your springs in the streets,
    having sex with just anyone?[c]
17 You should reserve it for yourselves.
    Never share it with strangers.

18 Let your wife be a fountain of blessing for you.
Rejoice in the wife of your youth.
19 She is a loving deer, a graceful doe.
Let her breasts satisfy you always.
May you always be captivated by her love.
20 Why be captivated, my son, by an immoral woman,
or fondle the breasts of a promiscuous woman?

Proverbs 6 (NLT)

21 For the Lord sees clearly what a man does,
    examining every path he takes.
22 An evil man is held captive by his own sins;
they are ropes that catch and hold him.
23 He will die for lack of self-control;
he will be lost because of his great foolishness.

24 It will keep you from the immoral woman,
from the smooth tongue of a promiscuous woman.
25 Don’t lust for her beauty.
Don’t let her coy glances seduce you.
26 For a prostitute will bring you to poverty,[b]
but sleeping with another man’s wife will cost you your life.
27 Can a man scoop a flame into his lap
and not have his clothes catch on fire?
28 Can he walk on hot coals
    and not blister his feet?
29 So it is with the man who sleeps with another man’s wife.
He who embraces her will not go unpunished.

30 Excuses might be found for a thief
who steals because he is starving.
31 But if he is caught, he must pay back seven times what he stole,
even if he has to sell everything in his house.
32 But the man who commits adultery is an utter fool,
    for he destroys himself.
33 He will be wounded and disgraced.
His shame will never be erased.
34 For the woman’s jealous husband will be furious,
and he will show no mercy when he takes revenge.
35 He will accept no compensation,
nor be satisfied with a payoff of any size.

Proverbs 7 NLT

Follow my advice, my son;
    always treasure my commands.
Obey my commands and live!
Guard my instructions as you guard your own eyes.[a]
Tie them on your fingers as a reminder.
Write them deep within your heart.

Love wisdom like a sister;
make insight a beloved member of your family.
Let them protect you from an affair with an immoral woman,
from listening to the flattery of a promiscuous woman.

While I was at the window of my house,
    looking through the curtain,
I saw some naive young men,
and one in particular who lacked common sense.
He was crossing the street near the house of an immoral woman,
strolling down the path by her house.
It was at twilight, in the evening,
    as deep darkness fell.
10 The woman approached him,
seductively dressed and sly of heart.
11 She was the brash, rebellious type,
never content to stay at home.
12 She is often in the streets and markets,
    soliciting at every corner.
13 She threw her arms around him and kissed him,
and with a brazen look she said,
14 “I’ve just made my peace offerings
    and fulfilled my vows.
15 You’re the one I was looking for!
I came out to find you, and here you are!
16 My bed is spread with beautiful blankets,
with colored sheets of Egyptian linen.
17 I’ve perfumed my bed
    with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon.
18 Come, let’s drink our fill of love until morning.
    Let’s enjoy each other’s caresses,
19 for my husband is not home.
He’s away on a long trip.
20 He has taken a wallet full of money with him
and won’t return until later this month.[b]

21 So she seduced him with her pretty speech
and enticed him with her flattery.
22 He followed her at once,
like an ox going to the slaughter.
He was like a stag caught in a trap,[c]
23     awaiting the arrow that would pierce its heart.
He was like a bird flying into a snare,
little knowing it would cost him his life.

24 So listen to me, my sons,
and pay attention to my words.
25 Don’t let your hearts stray away toward her.
Don’t wander down her wayward path.
26 For she has been the ruin of many;
many men have been her victims.
27 Her house is the road to the grave.[d]
Her bedroom is the den of death.

Yes, I posted the whole thing! Now, that you’ve gotten your Bible reading time in, I ask this question; Is this you? Are you the immoral woman that a son should be warned about? Are you going after a married man, hoping that you can fill whatever need his wife supposedly isn’t fulfilling and in turn, he will leave her for you? Are you the one who gets dressed in hopes of enticing a man, getting his attention and giving him all of your body, fulfilling his sexual desires, only for you both to be totally empty in the end? Is this your goal, to break your brother down to nothing, all so that you can feel as if you have power, purpose, meaning, significance? Are you the woman that parents are warning their sons about?

I understand wanting to look good. I know there’s tremendous pressure to be sexy by the world’s standards.  Look at the TV shows: Pretty Little Liars, The Mistresses, reality TV shows that encourage this behavior.  I see it and am very aware of it but we, women of God, are called to be the opposite! Being sexy is no where in the Bible.  Being sexy is not a requirement of God! He warns his sons against a woman whose goal is basically to entice, conquer and ruin! If you’re trying to get a man this way, please stop, this is not what you want.  A good, godly man is not looking for what he sees on TV.  He’s looking for the woman described in 1 Peter 3:3-6 and Proverbs 31:10-31.

Basically, to sum it all up, going about getting a man this way is prostitution.  Think about it, it’s the weekend and you put on the tightest, most revealing outfit you have and heels you can barely walk in and you go out seeking attention hoping that someone will buy you a drink, pay for your meal or show some sort of interest, face it, this is what prostitutes do.  You might not have sex, but you’re still using your body to get what you want. This was not God’s plan for His precious daughters! We were meant to be protected, guarded, hidden. He loves us! He’s given us abilities that men will never have! He’s entrusted us with the gift of childbirth, which is us using our precious bodies to assist God in bringing new life into this world! Our bodies are remarkable, yet we treat them as if there nothing.  We are not our own, if you profess to know Christ and love Him and He lives in you, this should not be you!

You can dress to impress without showing everything that God has given you and you certainly don’t want to repel the one that you’re looking for! There’s so many sites and YouTube channels that promote modesty and how to dress modestly yet fashionably. One of my mentees has an awesome YouTube channel that shares about purity and fashion. To check her out, click here.   Learn to be yourself  and be comfortable with who you are. Not trying to snag a man by how you look but learn to wait patiently with God, for God to bring you to your man, not someone else’s man, your man. Remember, these guys are your brothers in Christ, do you really want to be the cause of your brother falling? Our men have a huge battle to fight each and every day with the evils of this world, don’t add to his struggles.

It’s not too late to join in on the Proverbs challenge! You will surely be blessed!

Be blessed & encouraged,

Shannon

God’s Protective Love

Lisa was a beautiful woman, smart and intelligent. She had everything going for her – her own car, house, and was working in her career field. The only thing she longed for was love from a man – her soul mate, her partner in life to share all of life’s ups and downs. One day, she meets Mark and he seems to be all she’s ever wanted! He’s handsome, smart, and has everything going for himself. Unbeknownst to Lisa, Mark knows he is a great catch and he uses his success and status to his advantage. Sadly for Lisa, she feels she has to accept his bad behavior and the way he treats her. This is because she so desperately wants to be loved and cherished. So, she tells herself if she continually shows him that she is his, will be there for him, and will do whatever he wants, he will come around and be all that she wants and needs him to be.

Time goes on and it seems that no matter what Lisa does or doesn’t do, Mark will not commit to her. He just refuses to love her wholeheartedly. Thankfully, they broke up! Lisa endured her experience with unrequited love. Have any of you been there? I know I have and it doesn’t feel good at all! It’s painful to be in love with someone who will not return or reciprocate your love. It has the potential to sap the life out of you, cause you to be down and hard on yourself as if you’re the one who’s done something wrong! This, ladies, is a trick of the enemy.

The old adage “hindsight is 20/20” is very true, as I see better now. I loved with all I had, yet nothing was returned! Looking back, instead of seeing what I could have done differently, I look at this as God’s way of protecting me. In Lisa’s case, she was being protected from settling for less than God’s best for her. The sad thing is that so many of us beautiful women make the same decision to settle! God, the Creator of all things great and beautiful, did not create us to settle. He has great plans for us (Jeremiah 29:11) and He knows whom He has set aside for us.

Now, if I’d settled for the guy who I just knew was “the one,” I would have missed my husband! The thought of that makes my stomach turn! My husband is everything I’ve ever wanted physically and all that I need spiritually as the leader and head of our home. Had I not let the bad go and trusted God…well, let’s not go there. The point is, sometimes when things don’t go the way we want or hope, instead of getting depressed and upset about it, look at the lesson in the situation. This goes for jobs and business opportunities as well. We have to remind ourselves that what’s good isn’t always God.

Sometimes unrequited love is our visual, our proof of God’s protective love. He guides and leads us as we would guide and lead our own children. The great thing about God is that He can see the bigger picture; He can see what’s ahead of us. Why not trust Him to protect us? Even more, why surrender our lives to God and not trust Him in every area of our lives? In dealing with unrequited love and the pain involved, why wouldn’t He want to protect us from it? Here are some examples of God’s protective love:

Defends us: No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,” declares the Lord (Isaiah 54:17 NIV).

Guards us from attack: For the scriptures say, ‘He will order his angels to protect and guard you’ (Luke 4:10 NLT).

Protects us from invasion (of heart, privacy, life): The Lord is my light and my salvation— so why should I be afraid? The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble? (Psalm 27:1 NLT).

Protects us from loss: He gives prosperity to the poor and protects those who suffer (Job 5:11 NLT).

Protects us from insult: Let me not be put to shame, O Lord, for I have cried out to you; but let the wicked be put to shame and lie silent in the grave (Psalms 31:17 NIV).

Covers or shields us from injury or danger: The Lord Himself watches over you! The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade (Psalms 121:5 NLT).

There will be many opportunities in this life of faith to be redirected by God’s protective love.  It’s in how we respond to it that will show if we will reciprocate His love for us, or if His love for us will be unrequited? Don’t look at redirection as the end; look at it as the protective love of God and be grateful for His hand in your life. Unrequited love could be the best thing that’s happened to you!

Be blessed & encouraged,

Shannon

Perspective!

The weekend is upon us and I am burdened with this message:

Let’s put this into real hard-core perspective: Are you really so lonely and desperate, hungry for attention, affection and love that you’re willing to give away your precious body, your virginity which is a gift you can only give once, your heart to someone who hasn’t done anything in the eyes of or the approval of God to earn it?! You’re trading yourself, a priceless gift, for nothing of value in return? Think about this as you go out this weekend or make your plans.

Really think about it: You wake up the next morning, first of all, is he still there with you? What’s he thinking? What if he left while you were sleeping? Will he ever call? Will he and what will he tell his friends? Oh shoot did the condom break? Did you remember to use one? Does he have any diseases? What if he has a disease that he doesn’t know about? Will I ever see him again? What have I done?!

How do I know this? Because this was once me!!!!!!!! I know the feeling of being scared to death and promising to never do it again but because I didn’t know who I was in Christ, I repeatedly gave in to this desperation! I remember praying that I wasn’t pregnant by some stupid guy and I remember being so upset with myself for giving in yet again! This doesn’t have to be you.

Now if you were to have a wild night and you’re MARRIED and you wake up and he’s not there, you don’t have to freak because oh wait, he’s downstairs fixing us breakfast! I know what he thinks of me, he loves me because he married me, so what if you didn’t use protection, no worries because we’re MARRIED!!

See the contrast? God created sex for the confines of marriage because He never intended for us to be tortured by the consequences of fornication. Sex was meant to be enjoyed, repeatedly and freely, in the MARRIAGE BED!

Anyway, think past the here and now. Everything we do has consequences and we can’t escape the consequences.  You’re worth more! Don’t let your desperation breed defeat!

Be blessed & encouraged,

Shannon

3 Reasons Why You’re Still Waiting For Your Boaz

Genesis 2:22

New King James Version (NKJV)

Answer to Emptiness

Everywhere you look, there seems to be an answer to your emptiness.  If you have this job, car, house.  If you are married with 2 kids and a dog.  If you are this size and look this way, wear these clothes.  Eat like this, move like that, hang out with them, go here, say this, do this, read this, watch this! None of it means anything! All of this is just a distraction to keep us away from God!

My struggles with emptiness are no different, honestly married or single, there will be some sort of emptiness.  Why? Because without Jesus, there’s no fulfillment.  You can be married to the most wonderful guy in the world and still feel that something’s missing.  If you don’t have Jesus, then what’s the point?  He’s the creator of all, He has the owner’s manual, He knows how things are supposed to work.  If we don’t do things according to the owner’s manual, then we won’t get the full effect of what we have.  We have to learn that no thing or person will ever take the place of Jesus.  That’s how we were created, left with room for Him in our hearts and it can only be filled by Him.  I used to try to fill this emptiness with sex and food, but that led to so many problems and heartaches! Sex outside of its intended purpose leaves you feeling emptier than you were before. So you try again with another person thinking that oh, this dude was just lame. Then, the next guy fails and you try another, yet you’re still empty.

Jesus knows all that you’ve done and all that you’re going to do, yet He still says “come to me”.  He didn’t come to condemn, but to love…unconditionally.

jesus unconditional love

Romans 8:1

King James Version (KJV)

8 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

So, what if you have Jesus and you still feel this emptiness? That mean’s you’ve spent too much time away from Him and He wants you to come and sit still and be filled with Him. No pressure, no judgement, no scolding, just love.
